Positron annihilation spectroscopy Positron annihilation spectroscopy PAS has the capability of measur- ing defects within materials within an atomistic to nanometer level. Positrons are sensitive to open vol- ume defects within materials such as vacancies voids and bubbles. Therefore PAS measurements are ideal for irradiated deformed or porous materials. A Doppler broadening PAS system that can be used in singular or coin- cidence mode provides information related to both the concentration and type of defects Positron annihilation spectroscopy system shown in coincidence mode. PAS Doppler broadening S parameter results in a surrogate fuel plate. Taken from M. A. Okuniewski D. W. Akers M. W. Drigert C. L. Shull and L. G.
