The FY26 Super Rapid Turnaround Experiment (RTE) call is now open. The Super RTE solicitation is similar to NSUF’s traditional RTE solicitation, but it encourages larger scopes of work and allows researchers more time to perform tests. The award process offers an avenue for researchers to perform irradiation effects studies on nuclear fuels and materials of interest utilizing up to two NSUF post-irradiation examination (PIE) facilities.
Prospective researchers are encouraged to request samples from the NSUF [Nuclear Fuels and Materials Library](https://nsuf.inl.gov/page/fuels_materials_library).
Proposals are reviewed and evaluated for technical merit, relevancy and feasibility. Further explanation of the review process can be found [here](https://nsuf.inl.gov/Page/rte_techreview). Proposals must support the [DOE Office of Nuclear Energy mission](https://www.energy.gov/ne/about-office-nuclear-energy).
For more information about the Super RTE rules and requirements, please [click here](https://nsuf.inl.gov/Page/super_rte) or contact the RTE Program Administrator ( [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]))
Q&A sessions with a member of our program staff are available for researchers who have questions about the proposal process. These sessions offer an opportunity to receive guidance and ensure that you have the information you need to submit a proposal. Q&A session will be scheduled on May 8 and May 19. Additional details on the Q&A session can be found [here](https://nsuf.inl.gov/Page/super_rte).
