Come explore new possibilities in the field of nuclear fuels and materials research!

The Nuclear Science User Facilities program office is excited to announce Foundations of Irradiation Testing: A Workshop for Researchers. This event is for students, faculty and industry researchers eager to expand their expertise in the cutting-edge field of nuclear materials science and engineering. Nuclear materials and irradiation testing benefits from a wide range of technical backgrounds, including but not limited to:

  • Chemical engineering
  • Chemistry
  • Computer science and engineering
  • Materials engineering
  • Materials science
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Nuclear engineering
  • Physics
As a workshop attendee, you can expect to:
  • Gain invaluable insights from NSUF technical experts in nuclear fuels and materials research.
  • Gain direct access to national laboratory experts in nuclear fuel, materials, and irradiation testing.
  • Obtain essential technical knowledge fundamental to developing a future in nuclear fuels and materials research.
Workshop highlights:
  • Seminars on fundamental concepts of nuclear energy materials and irradiation testing (both experimental and computer simulation).
  • Case studies showcasing successful irradiation projects and their impact on the nuclear industry.
  • Guidance on best practices for successful proposal submissions to NSUF project award solicitations, such as the NSUF Rapid Turnaround Experiments and Consolidated Innovative Nuclear Research funding activities.
  • Opportunities to ask questions, discuss your research interests and plans with our experts and explore potential collaborations with NSUF partner facilities and scientists.

If you're new to the field, this workshop will provide a dynamic learning environment to inspire and propel your work, and empower your future in nuclear research.
