Biography
Dr. Kunal Mondal is a staff scientist in Idaho National Laboratory’s Materials Science and Engineering Department. His research interests include additive manufacturing, micro/nano fabrication of functional materials, soft and stretchable electronics, microfluidics, liquid metal, colloids and interfaces of soft nanostructures, self and directed assembly, photovoltaics, polymer thin-films, carbon nanomaterials, energy and environmental and health sensors, nuclear sensors, soft electronic skin and flexible transistors. He earned his doctorate in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India. He holds master’s degrees in materials engineering and applied physics from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, and a bachelor’s in physics from University of Burdwan. Before joining INL in 2019 he was a postdoctoral fellow at Florida Atlantic University in the department of Ocean & Mechanical Engineering.
