Biography

Dr. Kun Wang received his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). He used to work as a postdoctoral research associate at the Materials Science and Technology Division of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). And he is currently working as an Assistant-Professor in Materials Science and Engineering in New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University.

His research focuses on the materials for extreme environments. He specializes in the development of advanced structural materials, the effects of harsh environments such as high stress, high temperature, energetical particles irradiation, and environmental corrosion on the microstructure and mechanical properties of materials, multi-scale electron microscopy, as well as data-driven materials design. In particular, his current project focuses on the design and advanced manufacturing of high entropy ultrahigh temperature ceramics.
