Dr. Stephen Mezyk is a Professor of
Physical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at CSULB
with over 30 years of research studying radiation-induced chemistry. He has over 200 peer-reviewed articles, and
has nearly 400 talks and conference presentations given by himself and his
research students. His research interests are centered in the measurement of radical kinetics in the condensed phase, notably in the study of radiation-induced ligand degradation for chemicals used in nuclear waste reprocessing. In addition, he has also worked extensively on the remediation of
chemically contaminated waters, especially understanding Advanced Oxidation
Process radical chemistry.
