The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) today announced awards for advanced nuclear technology to DOE national laboratories, industry and U.S. universities. The awarded project proposals were submitted in response to two Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs):
The awards fall under DOE's nuclear energy programs, including the Nuclear Energy University Program (NEUP), the Nuclear Energy Enabling Technologies (NEET) program, and the Nuclear Science User Facilities (NSUF) program. The NEUP administers the CINR funding program on behalf of DOE's Office of Nuclear Energy (NE), and the NSUF administers the Scientific Infrastucture Support for CINR funding program on behalf of DOE-NE.
For the full list of awarded proposals for the CINR and the Scientific Infrastructure Support CINR FOAs, please see the NEUP website at https://neup.inl.gov.
The Nuclear Science User Facilities (NSUF) is the U.S. Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy's only designated nuclear energy user facility. Through peer-reviewed proposal processes, the NSUF provides researchers access to neutron, ion, and gamma irradiations, post-irradiation examination and beamline capabilities at Idaho National Laboratory and a diverse mix of university, national laboratory and industry partner institutions.
